‘Livetime Productions’ recently approached ‘Zendertechniek’ to  execute the wireless audio aspect of the Kingdom of the Netherlands’  bicentennial celebration. The production consisted of a large concert  for the Royal Family which was also transmitted on live television in  the Netherlands.

This would not have been so easy to archieve with any other brand

The difficult factor in this  production consisted of the large area in which the artists performed  live, both on the water in fixed pontoons supporting large video screens  and in moving boats. A wireless solution was needed for two way  communication from the vessels to the quay and vice versa. This proved  to be a complex and challenging event, as the area was full with artists  moving constantly between the fixed pontoons and multiple water  scooters and sailing amphibious vehicles.

PSM1000 transmitters and UHF-R wireless systems were selected for the  wireless connection between the various water vehicles and video  pontoons. Aart Heus (owner Zendertechniek.nl explains: ”This  combination, and the Wireless Workbench 6 software,  was the perfect  solution. We used the possibility to transmit audio from the P10T  (PSM1000) to the UR4D (UHF-R) via a point to point connection; this  would not have been so easy to achieve with any other brand. Also, with  the network functionality, I was able to remotely monitor and adjust all  equipment. This proved to be a really efficient way to double check all  settings before the show.”

The Axient Spectrum Manager was used to scan the spectrum environment  and to coordinate all wireless channels. This proved to be an important  feature seeing as the performance was in the middle of Amsterdam,  amongst other large scale wireless microphone users like the Royal  Theatre Carré.

The celebration was attended by the Royal Family and transmitted live  on the Dutch public network NPO1.The entire show was executed without  interferences or interruptions. More than thirty Dutch music artists  performed on this final celebration. Amongst the performing artists  were: Kovacs, Jeroen van der Boom, André Hazes Jr, Ellen ten Damme,  Rowwen Hèze, Ruth Jacott and many more.
