How To Adjust Microphone Volume In Zoom
When you have a meeting to attend, it’s always important to make sure that you sound just right. One of the ways you can do this is by making sure the volume on your audio devices are set to the appropriate levels. Since Zoom is one of the most popular video conferencing platforms, we will walk you through how to adjust your microphone and speaker volume in Zoom before and during a meeting.
Before a Meeting Starts
1. Start by launching the Zoom desktop client on either your MAC or PC.
2. After launching the application, select the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
3. Then select the “Audio Settings” tab on the left-hand side.
4. Use the sliders to adjust the volume for your selected microphone and speaker. If you need to set your audio to the correct audio settings you can always check out our blog on How To Adjust Your Zoom Audio Settings. You can also test your set microphone and speaker levels to make sure that you can hear and be heard in your meetings.
5. To test your speaker, select the “Test Speaker” button and listen for the test sound. If you hear it you can press Stop. If you do not hear the sound, you may need to select another speaker from the drop-down menu.
6. To test your microphone, select the “Test Microphone” button and speak for a few seconds to record your voice and check your input. After you speak for a few seconds, the recording will play back. If you can hear the recording and you’re happy with the way it sounds then you’re good to go. If you do not hear it, you may need to select another speaker from the drop-down menu.
7. If you want Zoom to automatically adjust the input volume for your microphone then check the box that says “Automatically Adjust Volume”.
To make sure your volume settings are good to go, it’s always a good idea to join a test call just in case you decide you want to make some additional adjustments.
