Audio Processing - Why Your Video Conference Can’t Afford to be Without It

Your clients’ worst meeting experiences come from being unable to hear details or needing information repeated. Learn how audio processing can help.

Professionals engaged in a meeting

Your clients’ worst meeting experiences can come from being unable to hear details clearly and having to ask for important information to be repeated. Unwanted noise and distortion can kill a productive meeting.

Global collaboration is more crucial to business than ever before. As organizations continue to decentralize - with employees working around the world - every video conference demands the highest audio quality available.

Audio Processing Explained

The Shure P300 Audio Conferencing Processor and the Microflex® Advance™ MXA910 Ceiling Array Microphone with IntelliMix® are equipped with Shure’s IntelliMix® DSP algorithms to offer state-of-the-art digital sound processing. These innovative technologies have been developed by Shure over the last 30 years to deliver the clear communications essential for today’s leading businesses and professionals.

IntelliMix enhances every aspect of meeting room audio to ensure consistent and clear sound for any type of conference call. Here are the six core elements and benefits that IntelliMix offers:

Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) removes far-end audio that leaks into the microphone, providing an echo-free conference experience.

Noise Reduction helps to overcome challenging room acoustics by minimizing unwanted distractions such as HVAC sounds that can impede clear communication.

Automatic Mixing increases presence and reduces noise pickup and transmission, which improves clarity, intelligibility and provides seamless interaction between conference sites.

Automatic Gain Control (AGC) adjusts the volume on each channel to effect consistency between quiet and loud talkers.

Compression manages sudden changes in the output signal from the automixer for improved audio quality.

Delay addresses the latency introduced in video systems (where you hear someone speak, and their mouth moves later), and aligns audio and video.

Parametric Equalization (PEQ) precisely controls sound through 4-band PEQ channels on each array microphone. The MXA910 also includes three EQ Contour presets for quick and easy microphone tuning.

Meeting Experiences Improved by IntelliMix

IntelliMix brings audio intelligence to your meeting ecosystem and provides the best audio-conferencing quality whether in state-of-the-art boardrooms, small huddle spaces or even breakout areas.

As part of the P300 Audio Conferencing Processor, IntelliMix enhances every aspect of the audio conferencing. This means that you can provide your client with the best meeting experience, from noise reduction to automated audio mixing that combats unwanted noise distractions created by audio conferences where multiple microphones are used.

Easy Deployment

The IntelliMix DSP features outstanding “ease of deployment” capabilities. These include simplified templates and Autofocus Technology for immediate out-of-box setup. Designer software compatibility provides unmatched ease of configuration so installations can happen more quickly and efficiently.

IntelliMix DSP can connect directly to a hardware or software codec using the DSP embedded in the ceiling microphone. When used with a Shure Audio Network Interface (ANI), it offers users a simplified room solution that provides a microphone and DSP in one cost-effective package.

Shure has responded to the global need for greater flexibility by ensuring that the processor is simple to set up. Paired with Microflex® Advance™ or Microflex® Wireless Microphones, IntelliMix multiple connectivity options deliver far-end connectivity with soft codecs (USB); hard codecs (Analog I/O), and mobile phones (3.5mm jack).

Uniquely Flexible and Scalable

Integrators can also incorporate multiple the Microflex® Advance™ MXA910 Ceiling Array Microphone with IntelliMix® and the Shure IntelliMix P300 Audio Conferencing Processor for simplified room expansion and scalability, thanks to the distributed DSP architecture. The portfolio delivers reduced costs, an unprecedented level of control and streamlined integration and installation.

In addition, versatile mounting options enable IntelliMix to easily fit it anywhere in an office space, whether that’s under a table or behind a display unit.

Powers Your Performance

Increasingly, video conferencing solutions are helping to fuel the business decisions of global leaders who recognize the value of clear communications. The tools are here, now. Isn’t it time to deploy the power of Shure’s IntelliMix technology to reach your next level of meeting success?
