Shure Supports the UNESCO Week of Sound in France
Paris, February 2, 2023 — Shure has once again partnered with the UNESCO Week of Sound, which was recently held across France.
UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It contributes to peace and security by promoting international cooperation in education, sciences, culture, communication and information. The organization promotes knowledge sharing and the free flow of ideas to accelerate mutual understanding and a more perfect knowledge of each other’s lives.
More than ever, sound is a key issue that impacts our relationship with others and the world. Shure, a global leader in audio, draws on nearly 100 years of research, innovation, and expertise for artists, technicians, and sound engineers, as well as individuals, public institutions, and businesses.
The Week of Sound’s goal is to encourage everyone to realize that sound is a fundamental element of personal balance in relationship to others and to the world.
The five core sectors of the UNESCO Week of Sound include:
1. Health
2. The sound environment
3. Techniques for recording and sound reinforcement
4. Sound and picture relationship
5. Musical expression and practice
“The UNESCO Week of Sound explores areas around the societal importance of sound and the quality of sound environments,” said Thomas Delory, Channel Manager Pro Audio, Shure France. “Each initiative of the Week of Sound is in line with our convictions and the core values established by S.N. Shure in 1925, namely to design reliable, durable and highly innovative products that will allow everyone to understand the best of sound.”
UNESCO’s programs contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals defined in the 2030 Agenda, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015.
From the UNESCO website:
“UNESCO develops educational tools to help people live as global citizens free of hate and intolerance. UNESCO works to ensure that every child and every citizen has access to quality education. By promoting cultural heritage and the equal dignity of all cultures, UNESCO strengthens the bonds between nations.”
