Improvement

  • Fixes issues where the microphone was not properly recognized by the ShurePlus MOTIV or MOTIV Video app

Known Issues

  • In a small number of instances, unplugging the MV88+ from an iPhone XS, XS Max, or XR can cause the phone to crash and reboot. This is due to an Apple bug that is being investigated and should be resolved in an upcoming iOS release.
  • When connected to iPad Pro via a USB-C cable, the MV88+ will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro. No adjustments can be made in real time (except gain) on the Shure MOTIV apps when using an iPad Pro.

Notes

App
2.6.0

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Custom Presets: Save and reuse your favorite mic settings
  • Bug fixes

KNOWN ISSUES

  • A small percentage of users may receive a numerical error message while recording, such as “-1” or “66570.” These messages occur when there was an error writing to the device and are related to Apple’s new file system (APFS). One of these errors can occur even if your device has plenty of remaining storage. We recommend clearing up your device storage from the Settings screen, and if that doesn’t resolve the issues, doing a full restore from iTunes, consisting of backing up your device, wiping/restoring to factory settings, and restoring from the backup.
  • If you monitor your recordings with Bluetooth earphones, you may hear artifacts, such as noise, while monitoring. If this occurs, we recommend changing the sample rate of your recordings. Some products may produce artifacts at 44.1 kHz, while others may do so for 48 kHz recordings. Please keep in mind that even if you hear artifacts while monitoring, they will not be present in the recordings themselves.
  • When connected to iPad Pro via a USB-C cable, the MV88+ will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However, the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro. No adjustments can be made in real time (except gain) on the Shure MOTIV apps when using an iPad Pro.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Bug fixes

NOTES

App
1.1.3

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Bug fixes

KNOWN ISSUES

  • Some users of iPhone 8 or iPhone X may experience silence or noisy artifacts on their recordings. iOS 11.3 includes a fix for this issue, so we strongly suggest that all users with either of these phones upgrade to the latest version of iOS.
  • If the screen is locked while a MOTIV microphone is plugged in, the app may no longer be able to access it. To fix this issue, return to the home screen, force-close the app, then unplug and re-plug the microphone.
  • Users of iPhone 8 who are running iOS 11.3 may experience crashes when playing back saved recordings from within the app.

NOTES

Firmware
4.0.12

Recommendation

Update all MXA910 devices in a configuration to the same firmware version. Devices on version 4.0.12 cannot be downgraded to previous versions.

Improvements

  • Incorporates IntelliMix® DSP including AEC, Noise Reduction, Automatic mixing, AGC, Compressor, Delay and EQ. IntelliMix® uses Shure’s patent-pending acoustic echo cancellation technology to deliver a single channel of auto-mixed, noise- and echo-free audio.
  • Patent-pending Autofocus™ technology continually fine-tunes the position of each lobe in real time, for consistent sound when participants lean back in their chairs, or even stand up.

Known Issues

  • When exporting Presets using Safari on a Mac OS, the file type is saved incorrectly and must be renamed to .json to be imported
  • When attempting to load the device’s web page after using SUU to upgrade or downgrade between MXA 4.0 and earlier releases, the browser may appear to be stuck on the “Loading” screen with the progress bar continually moving. This will typically happen if two upgrades or downgrades are performed within a one-hour period. To correct this, hold your Shift key and click the Refresh button in your browser (or press Ctrl+Shift+R [Win]/Ctrl+F5 [Win]/Cmd+Shift+R [Mac]; note the keyboard shortcut doesn't work on Safari).

Software
3.2.0
*****
UPDATE: Oct 15, 2019: Designer 3.2 supports P300 devices updated to version 3.1.8.
*****

IMPORTANT
  • When upgrading Designer versions, the installer will prompt that the destination folder C:\Program Files\Shure\Shure\Shure Designer is not empty; please change the Shure Designer folder name (e.g. Shure Designer 3.1) or delete the existing Shure Designer folder and it will automatically be re-created during the upgrade.
  • In order to push from virtual devices to online devices, or vice versa, the virtual device and online version must be of the same version. For example, all new virtual MXA910s created in Designer 3.2 are on version 4.0.12; those virtual devices can only be associated with online devices that are also on firmware version 4.0.12.

IMPROVEMENTS
  • Support for MXA910 firmware version 4.0.12 with IntelliMix® DSP
  • Bug fixes

KNOWN ISSUES
  • When using MXA910 4.0.12 firmware, the Sync Status between the virtual and online device will appear as ‘Not Synced.’
  • If no NIC is selected, some features on virtual devices may not work as expected, e.g. deleting lobes from virtual MXA910s; select a NIC to fix the issue.
  • When using Windows 7, no more than five windows can be open simultaneously.
  • Templates that were created from a location will be empty when the project is exported and then imported. This does not affect locations that were not copied to templates.
  • With more than 20 devices in location or 60 on the network, some actions will take longer due to increased network traffic.
  • When pushing to many devices, the status may incorrectly show that the push failed. For most devices, if the Sync Status changes from ‘Not Synced’ to ‘Synced’, then the push was successful. However, with MXA910 version 4.0.12, the status will always say ‘Not Synced.’
  • When deleting a virtual device, Designer will warn that encryption and password settings will be changed; however, the discovered devices’ encryption and password settings will not be affected.
  • When working with virtual devices and presets, channel names do not revert to default values when “Restore Default Settings” is clicked, and location may take time to respond.
  • In Coverage Map, changing the unit of measurement will not be saved for the location; the unit of measurement will default to feet when the location is reopened.                                          When importing a Designer preset file into the MXA910 web application, attempts to immediately export that file out of the web application will fail if it is not first loaded and saved to the MXA910.
  • When changing an exported project file name and attempting to import the project file, an error message may appear although the project was successfully imported; switch tabs or close and re-open the app to view the project.

NOTES

Software

Improvements

  • Support for MXA910 firmware version 4.0.12 with IntelliMix® DSP
  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • Discovering MXW microphones may take more than 1 minute
  • If a single location has more than 32 devices, the audio metering quality will decrease
  • UTC time and date are displayed on Event Log and Email/SMS notifications.
  • Navigating through an Event Log with hundreds of events may be slow or could cause the system to time out.
  • For non-English users setting up SMS notifications, the Senders Phone Number field does not show the required (*), but the field is required.
  • If a valid license activation ID is applied and fails on the first attempt, please try again before calling support.
