Initial Release
Notes
- User Guide
- Supports iPhone 5S and later – iPad and iPod Touch are not supported
- Compatible with iOS 11.3 or later
Initial Release
Known Issues
- In a small number of instances, unplugging the MV88+ from an iPhone XS, XS Max, or XR can cause the phone to crash and reboot. This is due to an Apple bug that is being investigated and should be resolved in an upcoming iOS release.
- In a small number of instances, the microphone will fail to be recognized by the MOTIV app, which will instead display "Built-In Mic" on the Mic Setup and Record screens and not record through the MV88+. Plugging the microphone into a PC or Mac, then plugging back into the mobile device will solve the issue.
- When connected to iPad Pro via a USB-C cable, the MV88+ will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro. No adjustments can be made in real time (except gain) on the Shure MOTIV apps when using an iPad Pro.
Notes
Recommendation
Update all Audio Network Interfaces in a configuration to the same firmware version.
Improvements
- Compatibility with Designer 3.1 System Configuration Software
- Hardware LED Metering and Clip Improvements
- USB Audio Plug and play improvements
- Network stability enhancements
- Bug fixes
Known Issues
- TCPI set 0 for input level switch also incorrectly changes the output level switch and vice versa.
- When exporting Presets using Safari on a Mac OS, the file type is saved incorrectly and must be renamed to .json to be imported
- When attempting to load the device’s web page after using SUU to upgrade or downgrade between MXA 3.1 and earlier releases, the browser may appear to be stuck on the “Loading” screen with the progress bar continually moving. This will typically happen if two upgrades or downgrades are performed within a one-hour period. To correct this, hold your Shift key and click the Refresh button in your browser (or press Ctrl+Shift+R [Win]/Ctrl+F5 [Win]/Cmd+Shift+R [Mac]; note the keyboard shortcut doesn't work on Safari).

UPDATE: February 1, 2019: A new version of Designer 3.1 (3.1.1.2120) was released with a minor bug fix. Users running Designer 3.1.0.2067 are encouraged to update to the newer version. (Find the version number of your Designer installation at the bottom of the Settings screen.)
*****
Release Date: 1/15/2019
Important
When upgrading from Designer 3.0 to Designer 3.1, the installer may prompt that the destination folder C:\Program Files\Shure\Shure Designer is not empty. To fix this issue:
- After seeing the prompt in the installer, go to C:\Program Files\Shure\Shure\Shure Designer in your file explorer and delete the existing Shure Designer folder
- Continue the installer for Designer 3.1
Improvements
- Support for both virtual and discovered devices
- Support for new products:
- Routing for supported devices
- Reusable location templates
- Location security settings
- Bug fixes
Known Issues
- When using Windows 7, no more than five windows can be open simultaneously.
- Templates that were created from a location will be empty when the project is exported and then imported. This does not affect locations that weren’t copied to templates.
- With more than 20 devices in location or 60 on the network, some actions will take longer due to increased network traffic.
- When pushing to devices, the status may incorrectly show that the push failed. If the Sync Status changes from ‘Not Synced’ to ‘Synced’, then the push was successful.
- When deleting a virtual device, Designer will warn that encryption and password settings will be changed; however, the discovered devices’ encryption and password settings will not be affected.
- When working with virtual devices and presets, channel names do not revert to default values when “Restore Default Settings” is clicked, and location may take time to respond.
- When loading a preset on a virtual P300 device, saved Off Attenuation and EQ Contour values will be overwritten by Mic Optimization mode defaults.
- Event log may incorrectly say “Push failed” for “Push to Dante” events, though the description will say that the event was successful. In these cases, the event was successful.
- In Coverage Map, changing the unit of measurement will not be saved for the location; the unit of measurement will default to feet when the location is reopened.
- When importing a Designer preset file into the MXA910 web application, attempts to immediately export that file out of the web application will fail if it's not first loaded and saved to the MXA910.
Notes
- Internet access is required during the installation process.
- Designer User Guide
