Media Statement: Shure Discontinues Microflex® Complete Digital Conference System, Reaffirms Focus On Microflex® Complete Wireless And Audio Ecosystem Solutions For Evolving Customer Needs
CHICAGO, February 15, 2021—Based on an evaluation of evolving market needs, Shure is discontinuing the Microflex® Complete Wired Digital Conferencing System. The decision to discontinue this product line is due to a long-term prioritization of the AV conferencing and collaboration market.
Shure is reaffirming its commitment to the government market by continuing to offer a broad spectrum of audio solutions for applications and customers at local, national and international government institutions – including the Microflex® Complete Wireless (MXCW) Digital Conferencing System. MXCW continues to be a significant growth opportunity for Shure as the demand for flexible, wireless conferencing increases.
MXCW has allowed many government customers to be flexible with in-person meetings, especially in the age of social distancing where temporary meeting rooms can be set up with individuals spaced out appropriately. This wireless solution keeps up with the constantly-changing demands of conferences without invasive installs and cable limitations.
Over the past year, Shure has significantly expanded its AV conferencing product line, providing a full ecosystem of products, from microphone to DSP to loudspeaker. The company has collaborated with many partners to provide seamless third-party integrations and new options for customers. The recent acquisition of Stem Audio further positions Shure to provide an expanded offering of solutions.
Shure’s AV conferencing audio ecosystem comprises:
- Microphones: Ceiling Array, Table Array, and Linear Array Microphones
- Loudspeaker: Networked Ceiling Loudspeaker
- DSP: Audio Conferencing Processor and Audio Processing Software
- Software: System Configuration Software and Remote Management Software
- Accessories: Network Mute Button and Audio Network Interfaces
The last order cut-off date for MXC is November 30, 2021. Due to the long lead time for parts, MXC orders will not be accepted after this date. Standard service and warranty support are expected to end in May 2024.
