Civista Bank Integrates Shure MXA910 Ceiling Arrays for Convertible Board Room

Civista Bank, founded in 1884, is the banking subsidiary of Civista Bancshares, Inc., (NASDAQ:CIVB) a financial holding company with assets of approximately $1.3 billion headquartered in Sandusky, Ohio. Civista Bank prides itself on being an integral part of the community and developing life-long customer relationships. With more than 300 employees and 28 locations across North Central and Southwest Ohio, Civista serves the needs of consumer, business, mortgage, and wealth management customers. Civista Bank’s main meeting room in their Sandusky headquarters, used for a variety of critical business practices, including board meetings, teleconferencing with other banks and Loan Review Processes, was due for an A/V upgrade as executives and other employees noticed a lack in audio quality while conferencing.

Civista Bank turned to ProVideo Systems, a veteran full service commercial audio/visual systems integrator, to meet their need for a reliable and flexible audio capture system in their board room. After an initial Shure microphone install, the team instead decided integrate three Shure Microflex® AdvanceTM (MXA910) Ceiling Array microphones, which would ultimately result in the clean build that met Civista Bank’s audio needs.

When approaching the install, Civista Bank had multiple challenges to meet, including the ability to efficiently capture audio in the convertible board room. Civista Bank’s board roomcan be separated into two separate meeting spaces via a removable wall, which splits one large room into two functional spaces. One space, a long, rectangular room required two MXA910 units to effectively capture audio, while the second space, a smaller square room, needed a single MXA910 unit. Additionally, when the board room was separated, it was critical that the MXA910 units did not pick up residual audio from the other room, resulting in leakage that could potentially confuse users or result in misunderstandings.

Another obstacle the MXA910 Ceiling Array units were capable of mitigating was a noisy HVAC system. Steerable lobes and substantial EQ preferences made it easy for the team to reduce noise and ensure crystal clear audio quality so customers, executives and board members felt like they were speaking directly to each other. Ultimately, it was a combination of flexibility, a seamless form factor and top-of-the-line audio quality that made the MXA910 Ceiling Array a perfect fit for Civista Bank’s needs.
