Firmware
1.1.2

Improvements

  • Support for added hardware revisions
    • Please update all the existing SLX-D receivers and transmitters to keep the system components in sync
    • To find out if you have revised hardware, go to the transmitter “About” menu to check the transmitter hardware version. It could show “Hardware: Rxx”, “HW: RxxREV1”, or “HW: VxxREV2”. The “REV2” indicates the revised hardware.
    • For transmitters with hardware version “VxxREV2”, the receivers must also be updated to version 1.1.2 to work with the transmitter

Notes

  • User guide
  • To operate this version of SLX-D with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of recommended versions:
    • Wireless Workbench 6.15.0
    • Shure Update Utility 2.7.1
Software
2.7.2

Improvements

  • Support for the new AD600 – Axient® Digital Spectrum Manager
  • Support for added hardware revisions:
    • MXW Access Points
    • ULXD, QLXD, and SLXD transmitters

Known Issues

  • ULX-D devices running versions prior to 1.4.8 must be updated to 1.4.8 first before updating to 2.0.28. After 2.0.28 is installed, ULX-D devices can be updated to the latest available firmware version.  See ULX-D Firmware Update and Issues
  • ULX-D devices that are downgrading to 1.5.6 may report a false failure.
    • Workaround: Because this is a false failure, closing the send updates window and going to the main page, Shure Update Utility will show green for the firmware version.
  • Microflex Wireless devices running versions prior to 5.2.2 must be updated to 5.2.2 first before updating to a later firmware version.
  • Shure Update Utility may have unexpected behavior if the firmware files are in a directory location that contains Unicode characters.
  • In certain scenarios, the Shure Update Utility process is not terminated immediately on a Windows machine if you close the window while an update is in progress.
  • Shure Update Utility will fail to discover on first connection an ADX5D on Mac M1 machines running Big Sur.
    • Workaround: Restart your Mac computer and ADX5D will successfully be discovered.
  • When IP addresses are deleted from the remote devices list, the devices that have those IP addresses will still be discovered in the Update Devices tab.
    • Workaround: Restart Shure Update Utility

Important

  • In most cases, you should install the latest version of Shure Update Utility to update your devices. However, certain legacy devices require older versions of SUU:
    • Use Shure Update Utility 2.4.8 to update firmware on UHF-R, SHA900, KSE1500, and GLX-D systems or for 32-bit support.
    • Use Shure Update Utility 2.4.1 to update firmware on PSM1000 systems running firmware 1.1.0 or earlier.
    • Use the MXC Firmware installer to update MXC products, including DIS-CCU.
    • Use the DFR22 Software and a PC running Windows 8.1 or earlier to update a DFR22.
    • Update MOTIV and AONIC devices with their mobile or desktop apps.
  • Note: Installing SUU 2.4.8 and SUU 2.4.1 will replace the most recent version of SUU on your machine.

Improvements

  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • Shure Audio Encryption is not backward compatible; all devices must be on version 4.1+ firmware to use this feature
  • P300 Shure Audio Encryption sometimes has a brief crackling sound on audio after muting
  • Shure Update Utility and Designer may not allow downgrading of new P300s shipped with 4.2.7 or higher due to a platform update to support future functionality and USB improvements
  • P300s with firmware 4.3 require Designer versions 4.3 and higher and will NOT be supported in Designer versions 4.2.1 and earlier.
  • P300 firmware periodically adds new properties. The P300 may become undiscoverable if downgrading to firmware without the new properties and may need a factory reset to become discoverable.
  • When attempting to load the device’s web page after using SUU to upgrade or downgrade between MXA 4.3 and earlier releases, the browser may appear to be stuck on the “Loading” screen with the progress bar continually moving.
    • Workaround: hold your Shift key and click the Refresh button in your browser (or press Ctrl+Shift+R [Win]/Ctrl+F5 [Win]/Cmd+Shift+R [Mac]; note the keyboard shortcut doesn't work on Safari)

App

Important

  • Shure is currently looking into an issue with iOS 16 compatibility. Some functions may not work as expected.

Known Issues

  • A small percentage of users may receive a numerical error message while recording, such as “-1” or “66570.” These messages occur when there was an error writing to the device and are related to Apple’s new file system (APFS). One of these errors can occur even if your device has plenty of remaining storage. We recommend clearing up your device storage from the Settings screen, and if that doesn’t resolve the issues, doing a full restore from iTunes, consisting of backing up your device, wiping/restoring to factory settings, and restoring from the backup.
  • If you monitor your recordings with Bluetooth earphones, you may hear artifacts, such as noise, while monitoring. If this occurs, we recommend changing the sample rate of your recordings. Some products may produce artifacts at 44.1 kHz, while others may do so for 48 kHz recordings. Please keep in mind that even if you hear artifacts while monitoring, they will not be present in the recordings themselves.
  • When connected to iPad Pro via a USB-C cable, the MV88+ will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However, the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro. No adjustments can be made in real-time (except gain) on the Shure MOTIV apps when using an iPad Pro.

Notes

Firmware
1.3.276

Important

  • Version 1.3.276 is a patch release to fix the root cause of a field issue that had prevented successful bootup on a few units. While the number of reports was extremely low, this update is highly recommended to avoid any potential risk of bootup issues in the future. Note that the prior two versions (1.1.161 and 1.3.220) are now removed from Shure Update Utility and Shure.com firmware archives.

Improvements

  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • Channel Names are not set in the initial attempt of ‘push-to-Dante’. Dante interface resets when Device Name is set.
    • Workaround: Channel Names are set on the 2nd attempt.
  • MXA920 LED does not stay on after a reboot if the light settings are set to Unmute = Blue, Mute = Red.  Other light combinations work as expected after reboot.
  • When a muted dynamic coverage area is moved when a dedicated coverage area has also been established, the mix output of the MXA920 has low-level audio from outside the dedicated coverage area limits.
    • Workaround: Unmute and Mute the dynamic coverage area after a dynamic coverage area is moved.

Notes

  • Note that Talker Position Events are published for talkers in a coverage area regardless of the mute status of the coverage area.  To fully inform camera switching decision logic, subscribe to the Coverage Area Mute Status. See https://pubs.shure.com/command-strings for further information
