Firmware
2.3.4

Important

  • ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers running firmware prior to 1.4.8 must be updated to 1.4.8 before updating to newer versions.
  • ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers running firmware between 1.4.8 and 2.0.28 must be updated to 2.0.28 before updating to newer versions.
  • After 2.0.28 is installed, ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers can be updated to the latest available firmware version.
  • ULX-D devices that are downgrading to 1.5.6 may report a false failure.
    • Workaround: Because this is a false failure, closing the send updates window and going to the main page, Shure Update Utility will show green for the firmware version.
  • ULX-D 2.X firmware versions are incompatible with ULX-D or QLX-D 1.X firmware versions. To ensure all receivers and transmitters in a configuration function with each other, update all devices to the same firmware version.

Improvement

  • Support new hardware revisions of ULX-D. New revisions can't be downgraded below version 2.3.4.

Known Issues

  • New hardware revisions of ULX-D version 2.3.4 are not compatible with SystemOn 2.0-3.0.1.
  • ULX-D devices on J50A or L50A frequency bands are not compatible with SystemOn 2.0-3.0.1.

Notes

  • User Guide
  • ULXD1/2 transmitters used with receivers must be updated via IR sync. After a receiver is updated, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE
    2. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter
    3. Press ENTER
  • To operate ULX-D version 2.3.4 devices with other Shure networked systems and software, see the following list of minimum versions:
    • ULX-D ULXD1/2/6/8 Transmitters and ULXD4/4D/4Q Receivers 2.3.4
    • SBC250/450/850 Networked Charging Stations 2.3.4
    • QLX-D QLXD1/2 Transmitters and QLXD4 Receivers 2.2.11

Known Issues

  • In iOS 11.0, iPhone would not always recognize when an MV88 microphone was connected. If you are experiencing this issue, please upgrade to iOS version 11.1 or higher.
  • A small percentage of users may receive a numerical error message while recording, such as “-1” or “66570.” These messages occur when there was an error writing to the device and are related to Apple’s new file system (APFS). One of these errors can occur even if your device has plenty of remaining storage. We recommend clearing up your device storage from the Settings screen, and if that doesn’t resolve the issues, doing a full restore from iTunes, consisting of backing up your devicewiping/restoring to factory settings, and restoring from the backup.
  • If you monitor your recordings with Bluetooth earphones, you may hear artifacts, such as noise, while monitoring. If this occurs, we recommend changing the sample rate of your recordings. Some products may produce artifacts at 44.1 kHz, while others may do so for 48 kHz recordings. Please keep in mind that even if you hear artifacts while monitoring, they will not be present in the recordings themselves.
