Known Issues
- If an ANIUSB, MXA310, MXN5-C is added to a Dante Domain the device appears as locked in Designer even when the controller permissions allow users to make changes. The user is unable to deploy, enable encryption or make any Dante related changes.
- Workaround: Remove device from the Dante Domain, perform needed tasks such as deploy, update Dante properties, etc., and then add the device back to the domain
- The Room preset slot does not properly detect a conflict state when a missing device which comes back online has different preset name in slot 1 when compared to other online devices in the room.
- Workaround: Quit the application using activity monitor and relaunch the application
- In Virtual mode, device discovery may be unstable when number of devices exceeds 30.
- Workaround: Limit device deployment to 30 in a room
- Users may be presented with error indication “this action is not allowed in the schematic input & output pages” of the P300 SDC (virtual or online).
- Workaround: Update names to valid setting.
- Users may be unable to configure ANIUSB, MXA310, or MXN-C devices while they are in a Dante Domain Manager (DDM)
- Workaround: Remove device from DDM, perform needed actions (i.e., deploy, update Dante properties, etc.) then add back to DDM

Known Issues
- Defect Description: Under heavy load in a larger network with ANIUSB, MXA920-S, MXN5-C, and MXA-MUTE, it may take over 10 seconds to auto route the virtual devices.
- Workaround: Relaunch auto route task
- Designer may freeze on MacOS with Sonoma and Windows 10, if left idle for a long duration (e.g. overnight), and user is not able perform any operation in application
- Workaround: Quit the application using activity monitor and relaunch the application
- Automatic conflict resolution is not happening in empty online rooms. This issue occurs after clearing an offline room (room containing only offline P300 and MXA310 devices). If an online device is added to the previously cleared empty room and a removed offline device comes back online, the room will enter the conflicted state and not resolve automatically.
- Workaround: Plug back device to get authenticated to exhibit proper icon
- Devices that use the Audinate Dante Ultimo platform appear locked when in a Domain. Whenever an ANIUSB, MXA310, MXN5-C device is added to a DDM domain it appears as locked even when the controller permissions allow users to make changes. The user is unable to deploy, enable encryption or make any Dante related changes.
- Workaround: Remove device from domain, perform needed tasks such as deploy, update Dante properties, etc., and then add back to domain
- Creating a room and adding devices, setting a password, and then attempting to import presets for an individual device creates an authentication loop where the user no longer can access the device.
- Workaround: Restart Designer
- When adding virtual devices into a room, deploying 60 devices may cause Device Discovery to crash
- Workaround: Deployment should be done without delay
- Only one room is displayed in Online rooms list when multiple devices with same room are created
- Workaround: If this issue occurs, contact Shure support
- The preset slot should get into conflict state because the missing device which is back online has different preset name in slot 1 when compared to other online devices in the room.
- Workaround: If this issue occurs, contact Shure support
- When using auto position for MXA920-S, if the user starts and cancels the listen operation prior to auto position completing, the auto position may fail.
- Workaround: If this issue occurs, contact Shure support
- When a design file in Designer 6.1 with MXA710 (with presets saved) is opened in Designer 6.2, rotation value is not retained.
- Workaround: If this issue occurs, contact Shure support
- Devices password state changed to locked state even if they are unlocked in set password step during deployment
- Workaround: If this issue occurs, contact Shure support
- The following devices are getting initialized after downgrade: MXA-Mute, MXA310, MXA910, MXA920-S, MXN5-C, IMXR and P300
- Workaround: If this issue occurs, contact Shure support

Bug Fixes
- This hotfix addresses the following anomalies:
- In Designer release 4.7.35, whenever the Coverage Map of a live 920 is displayed, the lobe placements are incorrect when Auto Coverage is Off. All the lobes are “stacked” on each other.
- Meanwhile, the web UI for the 920 in this scenario is correct, as well as the Designer 4.7.35 SDC for the 920. It’s only the Designer 4.7 Coverage Map that is the issue (and only when Auto Coverage is Off).
- For this issue, in the Designer 4.7 Coverage Map, the x/y/z values for each lobe are correct (even though the visualization is incorrect). However, if a user tries to manually overwrite the x/y/z positions, they will still take effect, but the visualization in the Coverage Map will not change.
- For this issue, in the Designer 4.7 Coverage Map, if the user clicks and drags a lobe, the change will take effect on the actual 920, and the updated position will be shown correctly in Designer (but only for the lobes that have been manually clicked and dragged).

Pre-Upgrade Requirements
- Designer 4.5 requires Windows 10 (Professional or Enterprise), 64-bit edition
- Designer 4.5 is currently supported on PC only
- Multiple versions of Designer cannot be installed on the same computer
- Designer and SystemOn cannot be installed on the same computer
Upgrade Path
- Designer versions 3.0 and 3.1 must be upgraded to 3.2 first, before upgrading to 4.5. Download Designer 3.2 here.
- If you encounter an Installer failure during upgrade, allow the uninstaller process to finish, then restart installation
- Certain endpoint protection software may block the application, if you encounter this anomaly, whitelist the Designer installer or application
Known Issues
- When disassociating online devices from Virtual devices multiple times, Optimize may not create expected logical routes
- Workaround: add new virtual devices and Optimize
- Selecting “forget device” on a cross-subnet MXA910 on firmware version 4.1.41 may result in the device being rediscovered
- Workaround: Close and re-open Designer or reboot device to see it as forgotten
- Mute Sync will not work between devices running version 4.2 and 4.3 Firmware
- Workaround: Ensure to update all P300 in the system to Designer 4.3
- In a network with more than 20 devices in a room or 60 on the network, some actions will take longer due to increased network traffic
- When importing a Designer preset file into the MXA910 web application, attempts to immediately export that file out of the web application will fail if it is not first loaded and saved to the MXA910.
- When soloing a channel on MXA310, all channels will show as “gated on”
- When one or more devices in a location are locked by Dante Domain Manager or Dante Device Lock, operations that affect Dante settings may be unreliable, such as audio routing, pushing virtual to online devices, or enabling audio encryption
- Changing channel count of Virtual IMX-Room device does not reset audio settings
- Workaround: Contact Support Center for assistance in the event occurrence

- For enhanced security, first-time browser user interface access will prompt the user to set up a passphrase. Users have the option of continuing without a passphrase, allowing for Shure Designer configuration software to securely configure multiple devices at once within a Designer location.
- Passphrase length must be at least eight characters, up to a maximum of 64, with all characters allowed
- Downgrade caution:
- After the 4.1.X upgrade, a device’s new Designer location passphrase (and/or its audio encryption passphrase) might exceed the allowed length of its prior firmware version. In that case, downgrading requires the following procedure to ensure passphrase compatibility:
- Prior to downgrading, disable the location and/or audio encryption passphrase or change the passphrase to the character length allowed by the prior firmware to be downgraded to.
- Perform the device firmware downgrade. Enable passphrase(s) as desired.

UPDATE: Oct 15, 2019: Designer 3.2 supports P300 devices updated to version 3.1.8.
*****
IMPORTANT
- When upgrading Designer versions, the installer will prompt that the destination folder C:\Program Files\Shure\Shure\Shure Designer is not empty; please change the Shure Designer folder name (e.g. Shure Designer 3.1) or delete the existing Shure Designer folder and it will automatically be re-created during the upgrade.
- In order to push from virtual devices to online devices, or vice versa, the virtual device and online version must be of the same version. For example, all new virtual MXA910s created in Designer 3.2 are on version 4.0.12; those virtual devices can only be associated with online devices that are also on firmware version 4.0.12.
IMPROVEMENTS
- Support for MXA910 firmware version 4.0.12 with IntelliMix® DSP
- Bug fixes
KNOWN ISSUES
- When using MXA910 4.0.12 firmware, the Sync Status between the virtual and online device will appear as ‘Not Synced.’
- If no NIC is selected, some features on virtual devices may not work as expected, e.g. deleting lobes from virtual MXA910s; select a NIC to fix the issue.
- When using Windows 7, no more than five windows can be open simultaneously.
- Templates that were created from a location will be empty when the project is exported and then imported. This does not affect locations that were not copied to templates.
- With more than 20 devices in location or 60 on the network, some actions will take longer due to increased network traffic.
- When pushing to many devices, the status may incorrectly show that the push failed. For most devices, if the Sync Status changes from ‘Not Synced’ to ‘Synced’, then the push was successful. However, with MXA910 version 4.0.12, the status will always say ‘Not Synced.’
- When deleting a virtual device, Designer will warn that encryption and password settings will be changed; however, the discovered devices’ encryption and password settings will not be affected.
- When working with virtual devices and presets, channel names do not revert to default values when “Restore Default Settings” is clicked, and location may take time to respond.
- In Coverage Map, changing the unit of measurement will not be saved for the location; the unit of measurement will default to feet when the location is reopened. When importing a Designer preset file into the MXA910 web application, attempts to immediately export that file out of the web application will fail if it is not first loaded and saved to the MXA910.
- When changing an exported project file name and attempting to import the project file, an error message may appear although the project was successfully imported; switch tabs or close and re-open the app to view the project.

Important
When upgrading from Designer 3.0 to Designer 3.1, the installer may prompt that the destination folder C:\Program Files\Shure\Shure Designer is not empty. To fix this issue:
- After seeing the prompt in the installer, go to C:\Program Files\Shure\Shure\Shure Designer in your file explorer and delete the existing Shure Designer folder
- Continue the installer for Designer 3.1
Improvements
- Support for both virtual and discovered devices
- Support for new products:
- Routing for supported devices
- Reusable location templates
- Location security settings
- Bug fixes
Known Issues
- When using Windows 7, no more than five windows can be open simultaneously.
- Templates that were created from a location will be empty when the project is exported and then imported. This does not affect locations that weren’t copied to templates.
- With more than 20 devices in location or 60 on the network, some actions will take longer due to increased network traffic.
- When pushing to devices, the status may incorrectly show that the push failed. If the Sync Status changes from ‘Not Synced’ to ‘Synced’, then the push was successful.
- When loading a preset on a virtual P300 device, saved Off Attenuation and EQ Contour values will be overwritten by Mic Optimization mode defaults.
- Event log may incorrectly say “Push failed” for “Push to Dante” events, though the description will say that the event was successful. In these cases, the event was successful.
- In Coverage Map, changing the unit of measurement will not be saved for the location; the unit of measurement will default to feet when the location is reopened.
- When importing a Designer preset file into the MXA910 web application, attempts to immediately export that file out of the web application will fail if it's not first loaded and saved to the MXA910.
