New Features
- Call Status support – Changes the microphones LED state to notify the user when the room is in a call (off hook-LEDs on) or out of a call (on hook-LEDs off). This feature requires Logic and Call status enabled and connection to a supported USB codec. This setting is disabled by default.
- Device Type – Informs USB-connected codecs that the ANIUSB has AEC (acoustic echo cancellation) in the signal path. The user or codec* can then enable or disable the AEC on the codec.
*Codec must support AEC disable for ANIUSB or have manual disable.- Speakerphone: Use for microphones without DSP (MXA310), or when the codec handles DSP.
- Echo-canceling speakerphone: Use when microphones have IntelliMix DSP with AEC enabled (MXA710 or MXA910) or when the codec DSP is not needed.
- Designer’s Optimize workflow chooses the correct setting for USB device type
- USB device type changes take 3-4 seconds and audio drops out briefly. Do not change other settings while this takes effect.
- Select the ANIUSB as the default audio device in the codec after making changes.
Known Issues
- Pop noise is triggered when the channel is unrouted in Dante controller with encryption enabled
- When exporting Presets using Safari on a Mac OS, the file type is saved incorrectly and must be renamed to .json to be imported.

To correct this, hold your Shift key and click the Refresh button in your browser (or press Ctrl+Shift+R [Win]/Ctrl+F5 [Win]/Cmd+Shift+R [Mac]; note the keyboard shortcut doesn't work on Safari)
- Shure Audio Encryption is not backwards compatible; all devices must be on version 4.1 firmware or newer to use this feature
- ANI22/ANI4 - In AES67 mode - Audio does not pass after changing Dante Device name, followed by reboot
- ANI22-XLR reverses absolute phase from Analog in to Dante out – workaround is to enable “Invert polarity” for Dante Output

New Features
- Support for Dante Domain Manager
- Support for Dante Device Lock
- Support for AES67
- USB Mute Sync
- Logic Mute
- Component user interfaces (web UIs) for the P300 and ANIUSB-MATRIX will be feature-reduced to support basic troubleshooting of network and device settings only. Designer version 3.2 will remain available for download to support legacy 3.1.x and 4.0.12 devices.
NOTE: Please ensure that field technicians and anyone providing in-field support on these devices downloads and installs the latest version of Designer. Device configuration and optimization capabilities will be minimal without Designer.
Improvements
- New TPCI commands
- For enhanced security, first-time user interface access will prompt the user to set up a passphrase. Users have the option of continuing without a passphrase, allowing for Shure Designer configuration software to securely configure the device within a location.
- Passphrase length must be at least 8 characters up to a maximum of 64, all characters allowed
- The passphrase may be disabled after the first login
- Downgrade caution:
- After the 4.1.37 upgrade, the device’s new passphrase (and/or its audio encryption passphrase) might exceed the allowed length of its prior firmware version. In that case, downgrading requires the following procedure to ensure passphrase compatibility:
- Prior to downgrading, log in and disable the passphrase(s) or the change the passphrase(s) to the character length allowed by the prior firmware to be downgraded to.
- Perform the firmware downgrade. Enable passphrase(s) as desired.
- After the 4.1.37 upgrade, the device’s new passphrase (and/or its audio encryption passphrase) might exceed the allowed length of its prior firmware version. In that case, downgrading requires the following procedure to ensure passphrase compatibility:
- Using Designer software:
- When multiple devices at different firmware levels are put into a location using Shure Designer software, the location passphrase for those devices must abide by the length and character set limitations of the older firmware. Advice: Update all devices in the location to the latest firmware in order to use a more robust passphrase.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where there was the potential for a loss of audio after a power cycle when using Static IP setting.
- Additional bug fixes
Known Issues
- TCPI set 0 for input level switch also incorrectly changes the output level switch and vice versa.
- When exporting Presets using Safari on a Mac OS, the file type is saved incorrectly and must be renamed to .json to be imported.
- When attempting to load the device’s web page after using SUU to upgrade or downgrade between MXA 3.1 and earlier releases, the browser may appear to be stuck on the “Loading” screen with the progress bar continually moving. This will typically happen if two upgrades or downgrades are performed within a one-hour period. To correct this, hold your Shift key and click the Refresh button in your browser (or press Ctrl+Shift+R [Win]/Ctrl+F5 [Win]/Cmd+Shift+R [Mac]; note the keyboard shortcut doesn't work on Safari).
- Shure Audio Encryption is not backwards compatible; all devices must be on version 4.1 firmware to use this feature

Improvement
- Fix for web server performance issues
Known Issues
- There is the potential for a loss of audio after a power cycle when using Static IP setting: Un-checking and re-checking the Dante connections is necessary to reestablish audio between devices. An Alternative fix is to use DHCP addressing.
- TCPI set 0 for input level switch also incorrectly changes the output level switch and vice versa.
- When exporting Presets using Safari on a Mac OS, the file type is saved incorrectly and must be renamed to .json to be imported.
