CHICAGO, August 7, 2019—Reinforcing its rich history of product design excellence, the Shure MOTIV™ MV88 iOS Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone has been honored as a GOOD DESIGN® Award recipient. Hosted by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, the GOOD DESIGN Awards are the world’s most recognized public certification for consumer design excellence. It is also the foremost program for recognizing the best design talent and manufacturing across the globe.
“For more than 94 years, Shure has worked diligently to engineer and introduce products that meet the Company’s high standards for innovation,” said Matt Engstrom, Senior Category Director, Global Product Management, at Shure. “When we designed the MV88, one of our core objectives was to create a mobile tool that encouraged content creators to deliver premium content in real-time, and in the highest quality possible. We’re honored to be recognized for the team’s thoughtful, meticulous work in bringing the MV88 to life.”
Shure’s MV88 was the foundation for the Company’s line of next-generation microphones designed with today’s smartphone user in mind. Content creators turn to the MV88 for unparalleled performance and convenience without sacrificing quality, which is achieved by using the industry’s first mid-side stereo microphone with plug-and-play functionality for iOS devices. Creators, audio aficionados, and AV professionals also rely on the MV88 to record and deliver premium video and audio content in real-time. Flexibility in the field is crucial as well, and the MV88 takes this into account. The microphone element is mounted to a 90-degree hinge with built-in rotation that offers numerous positioning options, ideal for video applications while ensuring the best sound capture possible.
This most recent round of GOOD DESIGN competition received nearly 1,000 new product and graphic design submissions. Winners were selected from more than 47 countries in a variety of categories from electronics and household product design, to graphic design and manufacturing.
