<h2>What is the WCM16 best suited to?</h2>

<p>The Shure Model WCM16 headworn hypercardioid condenser microphone is ideally suited to professional performers, lecturers, and others who require the highest quality voice pickup with maximum mobility. Its wide frequency response, low RF susceptibility and reliable operation at temperature and humidity extremes make the WCM16 suitable for virtually any vocal application.</p>

<h2>What is the best position for the mic?</h2>

<p>Miniaturized active circuitry included in the cartridge assembly provides equalization that tailors the low-frequency response to resemble the warm proximity effect of larger vocal microphones. Because of this low-end response, it is not necessary to position the microphone directly in front of the mouth, thus avoiding popping and breath noise, even without the supplied foam pop screen.</p>

<h2>Why Hypercardioid?</h2>

<p>The microphone&#39;s hypercardioid unidirectional pickup pattern provides maximum isolation from ambient noise and from adjacent sound sources such as musical instruments, loudspeakers and other performers. This permits higher gain-before-feedback without loss or masking of vocals.<br />

<h4>What are the ULX-D&rsquo;s wireless features?</h4>

<p>The ULX-D delivers class leading wireless channel efficiency (region dependent) and signal stability. Minimised intermodulation distortion allows significantly more transmitters to operate simultaneously on each channel.<br />
In standard mode, up to 22 transmitters can operate in an 8 MHz TV channel. However, all receivers offer High Density mode for applications where high channel counts are needed, greatly increasing the amount of simultaneous channels possible over one frequency band. In High Density mode, up to 63 active transmitters can operate in an 8 MHz TV channel, with no audio quality degradation.<br />
For ease of use, optimised scanning automatically finds, prioritises, and selects the cleanest frequencies available. Interference detection provides instant alerts if the system encounters interference.<br />
For applications where secure transmission is required, ULX-D offers Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 bit encrypted signal for complete privacy. This helps to reduce RF interference by only allowing the encrypted signal through to the receiver.<br />
Advanced lithium ion battery technology provides an extended run time over alkaline batteries, up to 12 hours of continuous use, with detailed tracking of battery health status. Lithium ion chemistry and intelligent Shure battery circuitry results in rechargeable batteries with no memory effect, such that a complete discharge is never necessary to maintain battery health. Transmitters and receivers display remaining battery life in hours and minutes accurate to within 15 minutes.</p>

<p>This digital wireless system is ideal for mid to large-sized events and installations, such as presentation spaces, music venues and churches. A clear uninterrupted signal is maintained within 100 m of the receiver.</p>

<h4>What digital wireless audio quality does it offer?</h4>

<p>The QLX-D offers professional sound quality. It uses transparent 24 bit audio to give a wider frequency response, whilst its 120 dB dynamic range provides excellent signal to noise performance. Additionally, it has a very low system latency of just 2.9 milliseconds. Its extended, flat frequency response (20 Hz to 20 kHz, depending on the microphone) allows the QLX-D to cover applications with diverse requirements.</p>

<p>The QLX-D offers advanced AES-256 encryption for wireless transmission. The transmitters give up to 10 hours of continuous wireless use with compatible Shure lithium ion rechargeable batteries. These batteries also accurately report the remaining run time in hours and minute.</p>

<p>Alternatively, the transmitters can run on standard AA batteries for up to 9 hours. Transmitter RF power can be set to 1 mW or 10 mW as required, to optimise battery life.</p>

<p>The QLX-D offers RF spectrum efficiency within the UHF range. Up to 22 transmitters can simultaneously operate on an 8 MHz channel. Additionally, frequency bands cover up to 72 MHz, allowing QLX-D users to operate more channels on air than with any other wireless system in its class.</p>

<h4>QLX-D FIRMWARE UPDATE</h4>

<p>Shure periodically updates device firmware to add features and improve system performance. There is a new firmware available which can be uploaded to this product. Please note that all systems need to operate on the same firmware, e.g. 2.0 for full functionality. To update your products please download the application and update devices to firmware version 2.0 or higher.</p>
