Firmware
2.6.2

Recommendation

  • Update all QLX-D devices in a configuration to the same firmware version.

Important

  • QLX-D 2.X firmware versions are incompatible with 1.X firmware versions. To ensure all receivers and transmitters in a configuration function with each other, update all devices to the same firmware version.

Improvements

  • Support for added hardware revisions

Notes

  • To operate QLX-D transmitters with ULX-D receivers and ULX-D transmitters with QLX-D receivers, all devices must be on version 2.X firmware or later.
  • To operate this version of QLX-D devices with other Shure networked systems and software, see the following list of recommended versions:
    • AXT600 Axient Spectrum Manager 2.1.41
    • PSM1000 P10T Transmitters 1.3.6
    • ULX-D 2.7.3
    • Wireless Workbench 6.15.2
    • Shure Update Utility 2.7.2
    • ShurePlus Channels iOS 1.5.2
    • ShurePlus Channels Android 1.1.1
Firmware
1.2.57

Improvements

  • General improvements

Known Issues

  • Transmitter firmware update will fail if the transmitter Power = OFF (standby)
    • Workaround: Set transmitter Power = ON before performing the firmware update

Notes

  • This firmware is compatible with Q5X AquaMic™, CoachMic™, and PlayerMic®
  • To install Q5X firmware on devices:
    1. Download Q5X 1.2.56 firmware from Shure Update Utility (user guide)
    2. Connect to the AD4D, AD4Q, or ADX5D receiver, and in the Hosted Tx section, select Q5XTx 1.2.56
    3. Send the update to the receiver
    4. Use IR Sync to update the transmitter firmware
  • AD4D and AD4Q can only host one transmitter firmware image at a time; if you also need to update Axient Digital transmitters, please repeat the above process, but select an ADTx firmware version.
  • To operate this version of Q5X AquaMic™, CoachMic™, and PlayerMic® with other Shure systems and software, see the following list of recommended versions:
    • AD4D/Q 1.4.7
    • ADX5D 1.4.7
    • Shure Update Utility 2.7.2
  • Distributed by Shure, AquaMic™, CoachMic™, and PlayerMic® and MicCommander™ are Q5X products. For support and service, please visit www.q5x.com.
App
1.8.2

Improvements

  • Fix for monitor mix crash when translations are used

Known Issues

  • The FPS and resolution combinations available for selection will vary based on the user’s phone.

Notes

Software
6.15.3

Improvements

  • Improved Shure hardware support

Known Issues

  • Wireless Workbench may crash when importing scan files from an AXT600 when a device or channel name has special characters in it such as “/”.
    • Workaround: remove special characters from the device or channel name.
  • Snap Cursor does not presently work for Live Scans on ShowLink Plots.
  • Certain AD600 property panel items are not presently translated into languages other than English.
  • Wireless Workbench is limiting a continuous scan to 8 hours.
  • Battery type may not persist between power cycles for SLX-D transmitters on firmware version 1.0.13. To resolve, you must set the battery type on the transmitter again.
  • ULX-D receivers running firmware version 2.0.28 or earlier may trigger a Settings Conflict when rediscovered after updating their firmware to version 2.1 or later. There is no issue with the device—there was simply a new property added in version 2.1. To dismiss the alert, resolve the Settings Conflict by selecting the properties you wish to keep.
  • The Timeline System Event “Active Transmitter Online” for ULXD6/8 transmitters does not always include Transmitter Device ID in the event description.
  • SLX and ULX frequencies in Master List mode cannot be manually entered in the Coordination Workspace. They can, however, be coordinated and analyzed.
  • While working in the RF Coordination or Frequency Plot, the scan data peaks change depending on horizontal zoom level.
  • In certain scenarios, the Frequency List dialog is empty and the CFL is not imported from AXT600.
  • While Timeline is running, markers will not display when changing FD-Override from current state to a new state.

Notes

  • Opening show files created with older versions of Wireless Workbench may result in the Settings Conflicts dialog opening once the file has loaded. This is due to newly supported hardware parameters that may have been introduced with updated firmware versions. To maintain all settings from the show file, select "Keep all settings from: Wireless Workbench."
  • Alerts logged when devices first come online may list device parameters and their values as they are being discovered even though the parameter values themselves have not changed.
  • The ability to request replacement frequency band labels through the Frequency Band Conversion Tool and Report has been discontinued. The band conversion function is still available for use in WWB6. For more information, please refer to the WWB Help System in the application, or contact Shure Applications Engineering.

Improvements

  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

  • A small percentage of users may receive a numerical error message while recording, such as “-1” or “66570.” These messages occur when there was an error writing to the device and are related to Apple’s new file system (APFS). One of these errors can occur even if your device has plenty of remaining storage. We recommend clearing up your device storage from the Settings screen, and if that doesn’t resolve the issues, doing a full restore from iTunes, consisting of backing up your device, wiping/restoring to factory settings, and restoring from the backup.
  • If you monitor your recordings with Bluetooth earphones, you may hear artifacts, such as noise, while monitoring. If this occurs, we recommend changing the sample rate of your recordings. Some products may produce artifacts at 44.1 kHz, while others may do so for 48 kHz recordings. Please keep in mind that even if you hear artifacts while monitoring, they will not be present in the recordings themselves.
  • When connected to iPad Pro via a USB-C cable, the MV88+ will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However, the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro. No adjustments can be made in real-time (except gain) on the Shure MOTIV apps when using an iPad Pro.

Notes

Software
2.8.0

Improvements

  • Improved display of firmware package version
  • Improved hardware support
  • Added support for macOS Ventura

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue when IP addresses are deleted from the remote devices list, the devices that have those IP addresses will still be discovered in the Update Devices tab.

Known Issues

  • In some cases, SUU fails to launch after installation on macOS Ventura.
    • Workaround: Navigate to System Settings -> Privacy and Security, scroll down to SUU notification, click on Open Anyway, and enter the password.
  • Shure Update Utility will fail to discover on first connection an ADX5D on Apple Silicon Macs running Big Sur.
    • Workaround: Restart your Mac computer and ADX5D will successfully be discovered.
  • ULX-D devices running versions prior to 1.4.8 must be updated to 1.4.8 first before updating to 2.0.28. After 2.0.28 is installed, ULX-D devices can be updated to the latest available firmware version.  See ULX-D Firmware Update and Issues
  • ULX-D devices that are downgrading to 1.5.6 may report a false failure.
    • Workaround: Because this is a false failure, closing the send updates window and going to the main page, Shure Update Utility will show green for the firmware version.
  • Microflex Wireless devices running versions prior to 5.2.2 must be updated to 5.2.2 first before updating to a later firmware version.
  • Shure Update Utility may have unexpected behavior if the firmware files are in a directory location that contains Unicode characters.
  • In certain scenarios, the Shure Update Utility process is not terminated immediately on a Windows machine if you close the window while an update is in progress.

Important

  • In most cases, you should install the latest version of Shure Update Utility to update your devices. However, certain legacy devices require older versions of SUU:
  • Update MOTIV and AONIC devices with their mobile or desktop apps.
  • Note: Installing SUU 2.4.8 or SUU 2.4.1 will replace the most recent version of SUU on your machine.
