RIBA choose Shure ULX-D® Digital Wireless for upgrade to historic headquarters

Client Needs:

A full AV upgrade was required by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) within the expandable 284-400 seat auditorium. The space, a Grade 2 Star listed environment, needed a system that was flexible enough to be able to not only accommodate members meetings and presentations, but also a whole number of different events, including conferences weddings, expos and meetings. The auditorium is regularly hired and used by outside events companies up to twice a day during peak season, so the system needed to be able to perfume to the highest standard and be simple and efficient to operate and use.

Solution:

After a consultation process that included several different manufacturer’s tendering a variety of systems, 10 channels of Shure’s ULX-D® Digital Wireless were procured and installed, along with a selection of Shure’s high-end headset, lapel and gooseneck microphones. Shure’s Wireless Workbench software has also been installed and helps support any ongoing frequency issues due to the building being centered next to over 200 venues within a square mile and a number of foreign embassy buildings.

Results:

The first phase of an ambitious four-year project is now complete, with the auditorium offering RIBA members and outside event companies who hire the space superb audio quality, along with a system that is easy to use and offers maximum performance.
