Firmware
1.2.3

IMPORTANT: Version 1.2.3 is a recommended patch release.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Fixes IP Address configuration issue on non-Dante version of SCM820 in Manual IP Mode (bug introduced in 1.1.21).
  • Removes a rare state occurrence consisting of no audio on mixes, no meter display and persistent channel clip indication.
  • Removes audio distortion from signals with large DC offset on inputs.
  • Improved performance of AUDIO_GAIN_HI_RES using TPCI (AMX/Crestron).

KNOWN ISSUES

  • There may be issues staying connected to the GUI while using Safari on Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

NOTES

  • SCM820 running firmware version 1.1.21 and below are compatible with those running firmware version 1.2.3, but it is recommended to update all devices to the latest firmware when used together.
  • For operation of SCM820 version 1.2.3 with other Shure networked systems, reference the following list of minimum firmware/software versions:
    • Microflex Wireless 3.1
    • Shure Update Utility 2.2.0
    • Shure Web Device Discovery 1.0.15
Firmware
1.6.10

Important

  • After updating the ULXD4 Single Receiver from version 1.0.7, the user is required to reset the unit to Default Settings (DEVICE UTILITIES > SYSTEM RESET > RESTORE > DEFAULT SETTINGS).

New Features

  • 900MHz ISM Site Survey via Wireless Workbench (WWB) for X52, X53, and X54 frequency bands.
  • WWB Site Survey (902 - 928 MHz) Utility, which utilizes ISM-band devices to capture long-term scans and generates processed scan data, tailored specifically for coordination in this spectrum. Access this utility by selecting TOOLS > SITE SURVEY (902 - 928 MHz).
    • This utility is designed to use an ISM-band Shure receiver to assess whether a particular venue is well suited for ISM-band operation of fixed frequency microphone systems.
    • This utility includes the “Usability Report”, which runs sample calculations and reports an approximate number of usable channels in the ISM band.
    • For more information, consult the Wireless Workbench 6 Help System in version 6.11.2 or later.

Improvements

  • Added new frequency bands:
    • Americas (except Brazil): X52: 902-928 MHz
    • Brazil: X53: 902-907.5, 915-928 MHz
    • Australia: X54: 915-928 MHz

Notes

  • Transmitters to be used with receivers must be updated via IR. After the receiver is updated, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the receiver menu: DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE
    2. Align the infrared ports with the transmitter
    3. Press ENTER.
  • For operation of ULX-D devices with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of minimum firmware versions that are supported with ULX-D version 1.6.10:
    • QLX-D receiver 1.0.15
Software
6.11.2

New Features

Added Site Survey (902 - 928 MHz) Utility, which utilizes ISM-band devices to capture long-term scans and generates processed scan data, tailored specifically for coordination in this spectrum.

  • For more information, consult the WWB6 Help System.

Improvements

  • Added support for new ULX-D bands in the ISM range: X52, X53, X54.
  • Added support for new BLX bands: H9, H10.
  • Fixed bugs regarding deleting frequencies in the Coordination Workspace, and enabled deleting frequencies with the “Backspace” key as well as the “Delete” key.
  • Fixed TV Data for Italy and the Netherlands.
  • Fixed bug that would hide channel markers (from Inventory) in the Frequency Plot.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent scanning with MW4 receivers.

Known Issues

  • If you are running the Mac OS X Yosemite Operating System, be sure to run version 10.10.4 or later. Earlier beta versions of the Operating System are not supported.
  • On Macs, when users open show files and launch the Frequency Analysis dialog (by checking the checkbox and pressing “Analyze”), the Frequency Coordination tab may stop responding to keyboard inputs (for example, editing or deleting frequencies with the keyboard). To work around this issue, select another tab in the application (e.g.: Inventory or Monitor) and then reselect the Frequency Coordination tab.
  • SLX and ULX frequencies in Master List mode cannot be manually entered in the Coordination Workspace. They can, however, be coordinated and analyzed.
  • When scanning with AXT400 receivers, the Band Preset value in the Live Scan Settings dialog does not always stay in sync with the currently selected band of the receiver. The Band Preset can be manually changed to scan any supported range.
  • Alerts logged when devices first come online may list device parameters and their values as they are being discovered even though the parameter values themselves have not changed.

Notes

  • In order to monitor and control networked devices, you must be connected to the same subnet. Cross-subnet connections to a network of gear are not supported.
  • Tags that have been added to a show file but are not assigned to any devices are not saved within the show file.
  • Opening show files created with older versions of Wireless Workbench may result in the Settings Conflicts dialog opening once the file has loaded. This is due to newly supported hardware parameters that have been introduced with updated firmware versions. To maintain all settings from the show file, select "Keep all settings from: Wireless Workbench".
  • On machines running Windows 7, Wireless Workbench will not be able to discover devices when the machine has fallen back to its 169.254.xxx.yyy fallback IP address, regardless of the IP addressing of the connected Shure devices. To address this, perform one of the following:
    • Insert a DHCP server onto your network and set your machine and Shure devices to accept automatic IP addressing.
    • Statically assign your machine's IP address to the 169.254.xxx.yyy fallback subnet with a different IP address than the one it fell back to originally.
Firmware
1.6.10

Important

  • ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers running firmware prior to 1.4.8 must be updated to 1.4.8 before updating to newer versions.
  • ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers running firmware between 1.4.8 and 2.0.28 must be updated to 2.0.28 before updating to newer versions.
  • After 2.0.28 is installed, ULXD4D and ULXD4Q receivers can be updated to the latest available firmware version.
  • ULX-D devices that are downgrading to 1.5.6 may report a false failure.
    • Workaround: Because this is a false failure, closing the send updates window and going to the main page, Shure Update Utility will show green for the firmware version.
