Firmware
7.1.4

Improvements

  • Support for new MXCWAPT hardware components
  • Bug fixes

Known Issues

MXCWAPT

  • MXCWAPT FW update with older versions of SUU may result in SUU reporting a false update failure, when update was actually successful.  If this occurs, verify FW on APT via GUI or LCD.
  • When downgrading from FW 7.0, to FW4 or lower, the process has to be done in two separate steps: First upload the MXCW640 FW to the APT via the SUU and downgrade the discussion units. Secondly downgrade the MXCWAPT from SUU.

MXCWAPT Component GUI

  • When running Windows-Version:1809, cannot access APT CGUI when opened via DNS Name applied directly to the browser search bar or with Shure Web Device Discovery Application shortcut. Opening APT CGUI via IP address works as designed.

MXCW640

  • MXCW640 Left/Right buttons incorrect LED indication when using FIFO conference mode with Dual-Delegate or while identifying units while in Request List.
  • In very rare occasions, MXCW640 touch screen will not respond to screen touch.  Resolved by power cycling unit.

TPCI

  • Once MXCW640s are set to Ambient Role, unit will no longer respond to TPCI strings that are indexed based off of seat number.
  • Once MXCW640s are set to Ambient Role, and rebooted, unit will no longer send TPCI strings when changing role to other than Ambient (Chairman, Delegate, Interpreter etc). Resolved by power cycling the unit, while not in Ambient role.
  • Rare TPCI errors reporting a single MXCW640’s when transitioning roles from Ambient. Resolved by restarting unit.

Software

  • Shure Discovery Application missing MXCWAPT AES67 indication.

4.7.45

Bug Fixes

  • This hotfix addresses the following anomalies:
    • In Designer release 4.7.35, whenever the Coverage Map of a live 920 is displayed, the lobe placements are incorrect when Auto Coverage is Off. All the lobes are “stacked” on each other.
    • Meanwhile, the web UI for the 920 in this scenario is correct, as well as the Designer 4.7.35 SDC for the 920. It’s only the Designer 4.7 Coverage Map that is the issue (and only when Auto Coverage is Off).
    • For this issue, in the Designer 4.7 Coverage Map, the x/y/z values for each lobe are correct (even though the visualization is incorrect). However, if a user tries to manually overwrite the x/y/z positions, they will still take effect, but the visualization in the Coverage Map will not change.
    • For this issue, in the Designer 4.7 Coverage Map, if the user clicks and drags a lobe, the change will take effect on the actual 920, and the updated position will be shown correctly in Designer (but only for the lobes that have been manually clicked and dragged).

Known Issues

  • Shure Update Utility will fail to discover on first connection an ADX5D on Mac M1 machines running macOS Monterey 12.
    • Workaround: Update to macOS Ventura 13 or higher or restart your Mac computer and ADX5D will successfully be discovered.
  • SUU fails to launch after installation on macOS Ventura 13 or macOS Sonoma 14.
    • Workaround: Navigate to System Settings -> Privacy and Security, scroll down to SUU notification, click on Open Anyway, and enter the password.
  • Device discovery is delayed by up to 20 seconds when the device network includes GLX-D+ receivers running version 2.0.17 or previous.
    • Workaround: Update GLX-D+ to the latest version (2.0.18 or later)
  • ULX-D devices running versions prior to 1.4.8 must be updated to 1.4.8 first before updating to 2.0.28. After 2.0.28 is installed, ULX-D devices can be updated to the latest available firmware version.  See ULX-D Firmware Update and Issues.
  • ULX-D devices that are downgrading to 1.5.6 may report a false failure.
    • Workaround: Because this is a false failure, closing the send updates window and going to the main page, Shure Update Utility will show green for the firmware version.
  • Microflex Wireless devices running versions prior to 5.2.2 must be updated to 5.2.2 first before updating to a later firmware version.

Important

  • In most cases, you should install the latest version of Shure Update Utility to update your devices. However, certain legacy devices require older versions of SUU or a different tool:

Improvements

  • New hardware support
  • Bug fixes and code enhancements
  • Translation improvements

Known Issues

  • ULX-D receivers running firmware version 2.0.28 or earlier may trigger a Settings Conflict when rediscovered after updating their firmware to version 2.1 or later. There is no issue with the device—there was simply a new property added in version 2.1. To dismiss the alert, resolve the Settings Conflict by selecting the properties you wish to keep.
  • The Timeline System Event “Active Transmitter Online” for ULXD6/8 transmitters does not always include Transmitter Device ID in the event description.
  • SLX and ULX frequencies in Master List mode cannot be manually entered in the Coordination Workspace. They can, however, be coordinated and analyzed.
  • While working in the RF Coordination or Frequency Plot, the scan data peaks change depending on horizontal zoom level.
  • In certain scenarios, the Frequency List dialog is empty and the CFL is not imported from AXT600.
  • While Timeline is running, no marker will display when changing FD-Override on an FD-Selection channel.
  • Selecting a virtual UHF-R device in Inventory shows all types of presets in Item properties in Inventory sidebar.
  • When Interference is active and a channel strip is added to Monitor area, the Interference text may take ~15sec to disappear when power cycling the device.
  • Deploying CWS frequencies to a created virtual FD-C channel can fail in certain cases, particularly when multiple virtual devices of the same type are created simultaneously via "Add New Devices” dialog (i.e., the "Active Devices" widget is more than 1). Shure recommends creating such virtual devices one-by-one.
  • When editing the two frequencies of an FD-C channel via the property panel, mixed use of the frequency and group/channel widgets on both frequencies can cause unexpected frequencies to be set for the channel. Shure recommends using only the two frequency widgets when editing both frequencies via the property panel, or using the Inventory row frequency, group, or channel widgets to edit each individual FD-C frequency.
  • Merging a created virtual device that has a different transmission mode than the target online device can fail in certain cases. Shure recommends directly setting the transmission mode of the online device to match the virtual device before attempting a merge. Note that setting the transmission mode will cause the online device to reboot.
  • In the AD600/AXT600 Property panel, when accessing 'Edit CFL', the user is unable to select 'Type' as AD or existing type in backups after changing it.

Notes

  • User Guide
  • WWB 6.15.X and WWB7 can be installed on the same machine but cannot run at the same time.
  • The following features are no longer supported in WWB7 (customers may continue to use WWB 6.15.X if these features are required):
    • Online UHF-R control and monitoring
    • Frequency Conversion (e.g., converting a J50 receiver to J50A).
    • Import and export inventory
  • Opening show files created with older versions of Wireless Workbench may result in the Settings Conflicts dialog opening once the file has loaded. This is due to newly supported hardware parameters that have been introduced with updated firmware versions. To maintain all settings from the show file, select "Keep all settings from: Wireless Workbench."
  • Alerts logged when devices first come online may list device parameters and their values as they are being discovered even though the parameter values themselves have not changed.
