Pre-Upgrade Requirements

  • Requires Windows 10 (Professional or Enterprise), 64-bit edition
  • This version of Designer is currently supported on PC only
  • Multiple versions of Designer cannot be installed on the same computer
  • Designer and SystemOn cannot be installed on the same computer

Upgrade Path

  • Designer versions 3.0 and 3.1 must be upgraded to 3.2 first, before upgrading to this version of Designer. Download Designer 3.2 here.
  • If you encounter an Installer failure during upgrade, allow the uninstaller process to finish, then restart installation
  • Export project files before upgrading Designer
  • Certain endpoint protection software may block the application, if you encounter this anomaly, whitelist the Designer installer or application

Known Issues

  • Dragging the PEQ filter curve rapidly for a long time will produce a delayed user response when using certain devices (MXA310, MXA910, MXA710, MXN5-C)
    • Workaround: Slow down drag and drop processes or manually key-in PEQ filter values
  • On the Coverage page when a device is selected and the property panel is visible, "Valid range" dialog numbers change when user clicks the +/- buttons on device height
  • When adjusting the device height on the Coverage Map, the Talker Height value may momentarily display a 0.01 meter change before settling.

Oprogramowanie
3.3.0

Important

  • If you’re currently running IntelliMix Room 1.0, you must update to 2.0 first before installing 3.0 or later
  • To fully configure IntelliMix Room, download and install Shure Designer on a separate computer. Shure does not support installing Designer and IntelliMix Room on the same computer.

New Features and Improvements

  • Added the capability to update IntelliMix Room through Designer Software’s firmware update feature.
  • Added logic device type and EQ contour support for the MXA920 Ceiling Array Microphone.
  • IntelliMix Room now supports Windows 11.
  • Reduced the CPU consumption of the AI Denoiser feature.
  • Reduced the CPU consumption of IntelliMix Room when the Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) and Noise Reduction (NR) features are disabled.
  • Revised the system requirements needed to support IntelliMix Room.
  • Improved the behavior of IntelliMix Room after a paid license has expired. After the grace period, there will be periodic visual and audible license expiration notifications to the user, rather than audio being muted.
  • Added the ability to view the Network Interface Card (NIC) used for license verification within the IntelliMix Room licensing settings page.
  • Improved the user experience to clarify which version of IntelliMix Room was preserved on the computer when canceling an upgrade and performing a “roll back”.
  • Removed Network Throttling as an optional Windows optimization. Instead, Network Throttling is automatically disabled on computer startup. Network Throttling left “on” is known to cause audio performance issues in some scenarios.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved issues where many audio soundcards connected to the IntelliMix Room host computer could prevent discovery within Designer Software.
  • Resolved issues where audio transmission could be delayed up to 5 minutes after PC restart when using Realtek PC Output devices with Kiosk-type devices.
  • Resolved issues where mute synchronization between IntelliMix Room and the software codec could stop working if the computer was restarted via the removal of the power cable.

Known Issues

  • Packet scanning security software may cause audio performance issues with IntelliMix Room.
  • In order to transition from a trial license to a paid license before trial expiration, the IntelliMix Room endpoint must be deactivated and reactivated. Otherwise, the entire trial license term will be used before the paid license.
  • When renewing a license, IntelliMix Room will use the 90-day grace period of the expired license before activating the new, renewed license. After the grace period ends, the new license will automatically activate and the expiration message in the user interface will disappear.
  • The USB Mute Synchronization and Call Status features do not properly reflect LED statuses when joining third-party meetings from Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) devices.
  • In scenarios where many NICs are connected to the IntelliMix Room host computer, IntelliMix Room may not be discoverable in Designer software. Remove or disable some of the NICs to enable discovery in Designer software.
  • In scenarios where many audio soundcards are connected to the IntelliMix Room host computer, some of the connected devices may be truncated from PC Input or Output list views within Designer Software. Shure recommends removing or disabling the unneeded audio soundcards.
  • Changing the System Name of the host computer after installation of IntelliMix Room also changes the Dante Device name in Dante Controller. The Shure device name stays the same. Changing the Dante Device name can impact audio routes to Dante receive devices.
  • Ensure that the system/device name of the computer running IntelliMix Room is unique and follows Microsoft’s recommendation of 15 characters or less. IntelliMix Room relies on this unique name for proper Shure and Dante network operation.
  • Allowing a system running IntelliMix Room to enter a sleep state can cause issues with IntelliMix Room’s logic and mute synchronization functionality. A restart of the computer resolves the issue.
  • In some scenarios when using Dante Domain Manager with Shure devices, IntelliMix Room may appear as “Dante Locked” regardless of the device permissions set in Dante Domain Manager. In this state, IntelliMix Room networked audio settings cannot be customized. To resolve this, unenroll and reenroll IntelliMix Room within Dante Domain Manager.

  • ULX-D devices that are downgrading to 1.5.6 may report a false failure.
    • Workaround: Because this is a false failure, closing the send updates window and going to the main page, Shure Update Utility will show green for the firmware version.
  • Microflex Wireless devices running versions prior to 5.2.2 must be updated to 5.2.2 first before updating to a later firmware version.
  • Shure Update Utility may have unexpected behavior if the firmware files are in a directory location that contains Unicode characters.
  • In certain scenarios, the Shure Update Utility process is not terminated immediately on a Windows machine if you close the window while an update is in progress.
  • Shure Update Utility will fail to discover on first connection an ADX5D on Mac M1 machines running Big Sur.
    • Workaround: Restart your Mac computer and ADX5D will successfully be discovered.

Important

  • In most cases, you should install the latest version of Shure Update Utility to update your devices. However, certain legacy devices require older versions of SUU:

Important

  • If you have installed Shure Designer, you need to update to Designer v4.3 or higher before installing Microflex Wireless Software.
  • Simultaneous runtime operation of Microflex Wireless Software with Shure Wireless Workbench is not supported, but both may be installed on the same computer.
  • If the desired NIC is not selectable during the software installation, or does not show up in runtime in the Settings of Microflex Wireless Software, ensure the interface is enabled and is active (i.e. Ethernet cable plugged in & has activity LED’s)
  • Update any MXW devices which are below the minimum supported firmware 8.0.3 by using the Shure Update Utility (SUU) found here.  Please note – should the firmware version used be older than 5.2.2, it is advised to upgrade to version 5.2.2 first before updating to any subsequent more recent releases. Close the SUU when complete.

New Features

  • MXW mic naming. Enables to assign a custom mic name to each individual mic via MXW Software from version 1.2 onwards. That mic name is retained by the mic and will be shown in MXW Software whenever the mic is linked to an MXW APT anywhere on the network.
  • Enabled password protection for network chargers (MXWNCS)

Improvements

  • Removed the browser-based Web-UI
  • Web-UI replaced by a simplified “Thin-UI” with simple network settings, still available via browser-based access for APT and NCS.

Notable workflow differences from MXW legacy Flash User Interface

  • Prior to setup, a passphrase is required to initialize the device(s) (MXWAPT, MXWANI). The passphrase will be applied to all discovered devices which need initialization. This passphrase must be entered to access the devices.  As in the Flash UI, all MXWAPTs in a configuration share a passphrase but each MXWANI’s passphrase is independent.
    • CHANGED: MXWNCS networked chargers now also require authentication, so users need to log in to change device properties
    • For a given MXWAPT’s Utility Page, the listed devices will be only those which have already been discovered.
    • For a given MXWAPT’s Configuration page, all discovered devices which are open for association are selectable. However only devices which share the subnet of the viewed MXWAPT will successfully route Dante or link microphones with that MXWAPT.
  • SystemOn server-based software is recommended for remote monitoring and control where customized user accounts with optional alerts are required.  See www.shure.com/systemon to download.
  • Double-click the MXWNCS from the Devices view to set the charger’s IP addresses as well as other device properties.
  • Language selection is done in the MXW Software Settings tab
  • Shure Device Discovery software is no longer needed for typical setups. Microflex Wireless Software displays the discovered devices in the Devices list.
  • The "Lock Configuration" feature available in the MXW legacy Flash user interface has been removed in Microflex Wireless Software.
  • In the Devices view, "Configuration Status" is introduced. New/uninitialized MXWAPTs are designated "OPEN."  After setup, each MXWAPT configuration will have 1 "Primary" MXWAPT, and up to 9 "Secondary" MXWAPTs.  Sorting by "Primary" is a convenience for larger MXW deployments.  Note also that the Primary MXWAPT is the device that is initially viewed when opening any of the Secondary MXWAPTs in the same configuration.

Known Issues

  • In some network scenarios with larger configurations, some actions will take slightly longer. For example, networks of 100-200 devices may take 30-60 seconds for all devices to be discovered.
  • Microflex Wireless Software and Shure SystemOn software are not supported on the same computer. However, you can access the SystemOn server via the same computer’s web browser.
  • When monitoring an MXWAPT channel that utilizes both a Primary and a Secondary mic on the same channel, there is no auto-switch functionality to display the on-air microphone.
    • Workaround: manually select the Primary or Secondary mic to display.
  • Microflex Wireless Software must be restarted after Shure Designer 4.3 is uninstalled.
  • Issues with the Dante interface may cause discovery issues with Microflex Wireless Software

Notes

  • Microflex Wireless User Guide
  • To operate this version of Microflex Wireless Software with other Shure networked systems, see the following list of recommended firmware versions:
    • Microflex Wireless (MXW) 10.0.6
    • SCM820 1.4.3
  • Requires Windows 10, 64-bit
  • Requires macOS 10.14 (Mojave), 10.15 (Catalina), 11.0 (Big Sur) or 12.0 (Monterrey)
Oprogramowanie
3.2.3
February 21, 2022 Zobacz wszystkie aktualizacje

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved LED mute synchronization issues with Zoom Client for Meetings (5.8.6 and later) and Zoom Rooms (5.9.1 and later).
  • Resolved issues with certain Network Interface Cards (NICs) not being recognized by IntelliMix Room.

  • In scenarios where many NICs or audio soundcards are connected to the IntelliMix Room host computer, IntelliMix Room may not be discoverable in Designer software. Remove or disable some of the NICs or audio soundcards to enable discovery in Designer software.
  • In some scenarios where IntelliMix Room is installed onto a kiosk-type device and the PC output is selected as the Realtek audio output, audio will not pass through IntelliMix Room to the Realtek audio output for up to 5 minutes after PC reboot.
  • In some scenarios, especially if rebooting computers via removing the power cable, mute sync between IntelliMix Room and the software codec can stop working. To resolve the issue, disable and re-enable the “HID-compliant headset” found under the “Shure IntelliMix Virtual Audio” USB Input Device within Window’s “Device Manager”.
  • Changing the System Name of the host computer after installation of IntelliMix Room also changes the Dante Device name in Dante Controller. The Shure device name stays the same. This does not affect device performance and can be ignored.
  • Ensure that the system/device name of the computer running IntelliMix Room is unique and follows Microsoft Window’s recommendation of 15 characters or less. IntelliMix Room relies on this unique name for proper Shure and Dante network operation.
  • In some scenarios, the computer running IntelliMix Room must be rebooted after a Zoom Rooms update occurs on the same computer.
  • Allowing a system running IntelliMix Room to enter a sleep state can cause issues with IntelliMix Room’s logic and mute sync functionality. A reboot of the computer resolves the issue.
  • When canceling an upgrade of IntelliMix Room and performing a “roll back,” the UI confirmation mentions “upgrade success” when it should mention “roll back success.” IntelliMix Room will successfully roll back to the previous version.
  • If you update IntelliMix Room on a kiosk-type device using a remote desktop connection, log in to the admin account of the device after the update finishes and the device reboots. This step makes IntelliMix Room available as an audio device on the operating system.
